Rowmori is a row counter for crochet and knitting. Your projects, counts, notes and patterns are stored on your device and are not sent anywhere.

The short version. There is no account. Your projects, counts, notes and patterns never leave your device. Out of the box Rowmori sends no analytics and no crash reports; it makes one kind of network call, described below, to read its own settings. If you turn on Help improve Rowmori in Settings, it also sends anonymous crash reports and a small number of usage events — never your project names, notes, pattern text, file names or exact row counts. You can turn it off again at any time.
Ads. Rowmori is currently ad-free. It contains the code for a single advertisement on the project list, which is switched off and, if it is ever switched on, will only ever appear on Android. This page describes it now rather than after the fact.

All of your actual work is written to Rowmori's own storage on your phone and never leaves it:
Rowmori has no cloud sync and no account. It cannot see your work, and neither can we.
Exporting a backup writes a file into Rowmori's storage and then hands it to your phone's own share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice. Rowmori does not upload it anywhere. The file is not encrypted, so treat it like any other document that contains your own notes.
Rowmori uses your phone's system file picker. It can read the one document you choose and nothing else on the device. It asks for no storage, camera, microphone, contacts or location permission.
Connected services are off by default. While they are off Rowmori does not start Firebase at all, so there is no client on your phone that could contact a server. You can turn them on in Settings → Help improve Rowmori, and off again whenever you like.
While they are on, these are used:

Rowmori has no general-purpose logging. These eight events are the only things it can report, and their values are already grouped into ranges before they are sent:
Nothing is sold. The crash and usage data above is not shared with anyone for their own purposes: Google processes it on our behalf as our service provider so that we can read crash reports and aggregate usage. Ad data, if the ad is ever switched on, is different — see below.
Rowmori reads a small configuration file from Google's servers at most once a day, whether or not you have turned Help improve Rowmori on. It is how we can switch a feature off remotely if something goes wrong, including the advertisement below — a safety control that only works if it does not depend on a setting you may have declined.
The request sends what Google needs to answer it: your device's IP address, language, country, time zone, operating system version, and Rowmori's package name and version. It sends nothing about your projects, and nothing that identifies you. No analytics or crash reporting happens because of it — those stay off until you turn them on.
Rowmori shows no ads today. The app contains Google's advertising code for one native advertisement on the project list, switched off by a setting we control. If it is ever switched on:
When an ad is shown, Google collects and shares your device's IP address, your interactions with the ad, technical diagnostics, and advertising identifiers, and uses them for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. That is Google's processing, not ours, and it is why this is a separate section from everything above.
Rowmori does not track you. It does not combine anything with data from other companies' apps or websites for advertising. On iOS it will not ask for tracking permission, because the advertising code is never started on iOS — that is fixed in the app itself, not in a setting we could change later without releasing a new version.
Turning Help improve Rowmori off stops collection immediately and discards crash reports that had not been sent yet. Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on your device — including your projects, so export a backup first if you want to keep them.

Crash and usage data is kept for as long as Firebase's default retention allows and is then deleted automatically. Nothing about it identifies you.
Rowmori is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
If a future version of Rowmori collects anything different — for example if it gains purchases, or if the advertisement above is switched on or extended to iOS — this page and the store privacy labels are updated before that version ships.
